Re-evaluation

I just wanted to post a little update so that you all know what is going on. I have been talking with Tiffany and Heather about the future of the Welcomistas. To me, it just doesn't seem like people are out there going around and commenting on the lists. There are 60 some people following this blog and only 5 to 10 actively comment.

So for the summer, we are going to take a little break. I will be making lists and posting them about every other week or so. And then come fall, we are going re-evaluate things like maybe make a post on BlogFrog instead. I don't know, we are still brain stroming. If you have any ideas, let me/us know.

I now just want to say thank you to everyone who does go around and comment. And please, this post is in no means meant to make people feel gulity about not being able to get around. We all have a life and have to live that first. I just love SITS and everything that it stands for. So I want other people to know about it and feel the same love and support that SITS has given me. Its all about supporting each other and making people feel like they are apart of something big.

So I wish everyone a great summer and I will post a new list on Monday.

Short and Sweet

Not sure what happened as to why there was not a list posted this weekend but I thought I would quick put a small one together. Also, since its summer and we all seem to be busier in the summer, I thought that for now we should go back to smaller lists. Any thought?

Update and Newbies

I am going to interupt our normal schedule for a little update.

First, I let me introduce myself to those of you who don't know me. I am Jen from Buried with Children and I help Tiffany keep this blog going. There are a handful of us that work on posting the lists over here. Now, I want to say hello to all of our new Welcomistas. We are so glad to have you!

This blog is used to post a weekly list of all the new people that are joining SITS. As Welcomistas, we go around to theses new people and 'welcome' them to SITS and by doing this spread a little comment love around. This is a very important job because it gets more and more people to not only join SITS but to comment on roll call and then comment on other SITSta's blogs. This is what SITS is all about.

So we have a little problem, we are really far behind is welcoming people to SITS. If you think about it this is a good problem to have. So for this month, we are going to try and play catch up.

This is what is going to happen. I will take over posting the lists this month but each week, I am going to post a larger list and we are going to split it in half.

What I mean is this, I am going to post a list of 50 new SITStas (the normal is 20 or 25) and then if your last name is in the first half (A-M) of the alphabet, then you will comment/welcome the first 25 and if your name is in the last half (N-Z) then you will comment/welcome on the last 25.

The plan is by doing this for a month, we will be more current with our welcomings.

So that's the deal. In the previous post, there is a list of 20 newbies that need a welcome visit and I am going to list 20 more at the end of this post. Let's say that if you are an A-M last name then take the first list and then the N-Z names will take this one. And by all means, if you want feel free to visit all the blogs listed.

Oh and don't for get to leave a comment here when you are done with the lists or when you start just so that we will know who is out there helping with this. This really is what SITS is all about, sharing comment love, and I know that our efforts mean a lot to Tiffany and Heather.

Is This Thing On?

Hellooooo!? Anyone still here? *tap tap tap*

I know that there has been a serious lack of posting over here and it is because life and other SITS duties have taken Tiffany over and there are not enough hours in the day for her to get everything she need to get done done.

So I contacted her and told her that I, Jen from Buried with Children, would like to take over organizing everything. We chatted more, she more than agreed and filled me in on the workings of this site.

This is what I was thinking we could do. So that keeping this site up to date does not fall on one person all the time, I thought that each of us, Welcomista's, could take a month and post the lists which would go up once a week. In exchange for this and as a way to say 'thank you' Tiffany said that for the month that one person is posting lists, they will get their button placed on the SITS site.

Isn't that awesome! Just think of all the exposure you will get. My fingers can barely type this, thinking about it. Squeeeee!!!!!

So if you are interested in posting 4 (sometimes 5) times a month over here, leave a comment and let me know. I will keep that master list and remind everyone when it will be their turn.

Let's get Welcoming our new SITSta once again and grow this SITS community!

Blog address update

Hello All-
In all fairness to our newbies... There was a blog address listed incorrectly on the list.

Dana's blog was listed under fillinthecake.blogspot. She has let me know that that is not her daily blog. She said she hid that one in her profile.

She said she just joined last week and already loves it! Kudos to Heather and Tiffany as always!

P.S. Julia at Our Simple Life, was trying to get her new Blog The Apron Goddesses some newbie love. Her daily blog was already listed. Kind of the reverse situation as above. It's a really cute site!
