ADSENSE!

I hate adsense!

Google just disabled my account for "invalid clicking".... and guess what?

The $280 that SITS had earned?  GONE.

I am livid right now!

Not only did those ads get clicked on, they received 1,000 of impressions.

I am done clicking girls.... I am officially boycotting adsense.

UGH!

OH. My. Gosh.

What they heck happened? How can they prove "invalid clicking"?!

mine tooooo! And I'm so pissed as I KNOW lots of people have bought things from those clicks.. BUT here is what google says:
Encouraging clicks
In order to ensure a good experience for users and advertisers, publishers may not request that users click the ads on their sites or rely on deceptive implementation methods to obtain clicks. Publishers participating in the AdSense program:

May not encourage users to click the Google ads by using phrases such as "click the ads," "support us," "visit these links," or other similar language
May not direct user attention to the ads via arrows or other graphical gimmicks
May not place misleading images alongside individual ads
May not promote sites displaying ads through unsolicited mass emails or unwanted advertisements on third-party websites
May not compensate users for viewing ads or performing searches, or promise compensation to a third party for such behavior
May not place misleading labels above Google ad units - for instance, ads may be labeled "Sponsored Links" but not "Favorite Sites"
SO us clicking on eachother's ads did it I guess. What gets me even more is I was up over $150 for IMPRESSIONS... so I wasn't even getting click credits for someone who'd visited more than once or twice.. they should still OWE me for the ones that were unique.. I think that is the same as ripping us off... they got FREE service from our blogs!!!

Well it is what it is kiddies.. I hate it, I think it's unfair, but what ya gonna do? Maybe make a boycot adsense button? ha ha then Google'd probably nix all our blogs! I'm goning .com soon anyway... wait I was gonna use that $ for web-hosting.. DAM I wonder if they know how much this whole thing will be impacting the economy (he he)... I'll go .com anyway cuz it just sounds so cool:)

Uh oh...I'm sure I'll be next. Maybe I'll find a way to live without the $35 I'd built up. But that sucks.
Do they notify you or is your ad just gone?

Bummer, I still have no clue how it all works. I thought as long the clicks weren't coming from your own IP address, it was fine. They got you because we were clicking on it??

Even if you're not supposed to encourage each other to click on ads, the advertising still occurred. So you should get paid.

That sucks.

I've never used AdSense.

I was a little worried about that - quite frustrating to say the absolute least. Guess I should have been off visiting the news SiTSas instead of clicking yesterday and today :-)

Only a matter of time until they track down my invalid bootie...grrr.

That sucks big time!

OMG that sucks. The funny thing is, whenever I was clicking away, the AdSense ones would never work. What a scam.

Sorry ladies.

That does suck.

I had no idea about all the stuff behind adsense. Thanks for sharing in case I ever decide to add ads.

omg...that is awful....I am so sorry....I tell you what....they just don't want to give tons of money away...lol

Wow. I can't believe that! I was also under the impression that the only no-no was that you couldn't click the links yourself!

That really stinks guys :( What about putting a donation button for 1 dollar through paypal on the website?

I'm sure all the sits users will donate at least 1 dollar at least one time. That's a LOT of money for prizes!

Mrs. Jelly Belly said...

Lisa, I was thinking the same thing about the donation button.

That stinks. I agree with the donation button idea.

I like the donation button idea!!!

you should get a donation button for SITS.

i removed adsense from my blog and let all of my readers know i did it and why. LOTS of people are dumping it too. adsense sucks. the really crappy thing is that i USE to ALWAYS click when i saw it...not gonna happen anymore that's for sure.
